Consolidating the library just makes sure all tracks are locating within the library directory, there [doesn't see to be a|is no] way to change the sort order. Besides, it makes sense to me to have them sorted by Artist, then Album. If I want to see a list of all Albums, then I have to rely on the program I'm using (be it iTunes, or XBMC) to do that for me.
