I’m thinking about leaving Blogsome: I’ve been pretty happy with their hosting solution, and bugs tend to eventually get fixed, but there are two issues I can’t continue to live without:
- Posts posted via XMLRPC don’t have categories set.
- Posts posted via XMLRPC have quotes and double quotes escaped, breaking stuff.
I’ve got an account set up on http://schinckel.globbo.org. I’ll probably continue to post here until I get the template/theme set up how I want, and then move everything over.
Hello Matt, after reading your post i have also tried to create an account on globbo.org but i have a stupid question : how did you transfer your blogsome blog to globbo?
I surely miss something (but what?)
I apologize for posting this request but didn’t find info on globbo on the how to.
Thanks if you take the time for an answer i am really sorry to annoy you with this.

You’ll need to wait until a real person (admin) actually creates a blog for you - it’s not totally automated like Blogsome and Blogger.
It is a full WordPress installation though, you have FTP access, and can install your own plugins, and so on.
The only thing keeping me here in the short term is the ‘Whuffie’ I’ve built up at Blogsome. (Reference to a Cory Doctorow story - basically the linkage and respect I’ve obtained…)
