Edit HTML in Word?
Posted late in the morning, filed under Rants and Raves , Web Design.I had an HTML file I wanted to look at the source of, so I right-clicked on it in Windows, and chose “Edit”. Tell me Mr Gates, why on earth would I want to edit it in Word? I’ve never ever opened or saved an HTML file from Word, I’m not about to start now.
I expected it to load up in Notepad, which would have been bearable (a real text editor would have been better), but not Word.
Change the way you open files in your folder options.
Word is awesome, I love it like a good man on a rainy day

I should add that a good man is hard to find on a rainy day, they should just knock on your door when needed.
Folder Options go to My Computer, Tools, Folder Options

Thanks, but the point is, it was hardly expected behaviour. I know Word thinks it can edit HTML, but it doesn’t really do a very compliant/good job, and I’d rather see it in a proper text editor. Most other text file types, like
.BATor.INI, open in Notepad when you Context-Edit them.I don’t do much HTML editing in Windows anyway, since it’s a rather crap OS.

I am not sure why the person above is using my name and publishing one of my email addresses to make odd comments on multiple websites, including this one… but I would very much appreciate it if you would remove my name and the email address attached to it in the above comments.
Thankyou.
