		<description>I totally agree with you. I remember the introduction to programming classes at my university, which are required for math degrees as well. 100 or so students, but we got to use Eclipse and actual code. Too bad Java has too many concepts you need to know first before you can actually write a program. 

Then, the next year... theres about 8-10 students in the advanced computer science classes. And even then, I see my classmates just not understanding whats supposed to happen. And of course, some won't make it to the next level... and so on. At the end of four years, we'll have... two computer science graduates. Awesome. 

Its just the way things go. They want to try to make programming "easier", so more students will graduate, but programming, and computer science in general, is esoteric, extremely hard, and immensely rewarding. 

But then, when they stop coddling said students, they find themselves swept out to sea without any of the necessary skills, and so, they drown. 

It is a sad state of the situation.</description>
