120 Feeds and no New News?

I subscribe to 120+ feeds, from mostly MacOS X related sites, but a few others.

From 9am onwards today, I don’t think I got a single new news item.

This is just so that people who subscribe to my feed actually get at least one new item :).

(Update: Apparently something was wrong with NetNewsWire - It just wasn’t downloading anything. A restart of the application fixed it. 70 items - that’s much more like it ).

You called it what?

Shopping today - had to buy some Nutella (Hazelnut Spread).

Noticed a couple of cheaper imitations. One was Foodland or Black and Gold brand. The other, well, was:

Guess which one I didn’t buy.

Copycatting

Did you ever notice that The Gossip • Standing In The Way Of Control is a ripoff of Loverboy * Turn Me Loose?

Now, these links were obtained from the iTunes Australian Store, by right-clicking on them. But they don’t work for me when I try to use them to get back to those tracks…odd.

zsync

zsync is a file transfer program. It allows you to download a file from a remote server, where you have a copy of an older version of the file on your computer already. zsync downloads only the new parts of the file.

Noted for future reference.

Mmmm. Bunnylicious.

ecto 3

Playing with ecto 3 alpha - looks pretty good so far.

Hopefully it handles the RTF/HTML conversion process a bit better than ecto 2.

Spam Galore

I’ve had lots (and I mean lots) of Spam comments lately. Akismet has nabbed most of them, but a few have gotten through. And I keep having to moderate those snagged by Akismet. Tempted to try another, additional level of Spam protection.

Heroes

I saw the first episode of Heroes when it was first televised here in Australia, and I thought it was quite cool, but I missed the remainder of them. And then I got access to all of the first season (or at least the first 15-odd episodes), and sat down and started watching. I love it. This is a program that really shines when you sit down and watch it in a big block. I would, I’m sure, be very frustrated if I had to wait a full week after the TO BE CONTINUED… that ends each episode. But being able to follow the characters immediately makes it a very enjoyable experience.
